East of Eden by John Steinbeck. Finally tackling this novel after putting it off for nearly two years. I was mainly intimated by its size, but since this year I seem to be going pretty fast through books I thought "If not now..." and so far I am impressed with what an easy read it's proven to be. Complex themes of love, betrayal, guilt, depravity...sounds a bit like an episode of The Jerry Springer Show no?! But seriously, this is a great book, a wonderful classic, already made into a film - 1955- starring none other than the definitive rebel of that era, James Dean... it is being remade though and will be ready for the world late 2011, everyone should read it basically.
